The Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce held its annual membership meeting Aug. 21 at Waypoint United Methodist Church in Waynesville. The luncheon was sponsored by Pulaski County Weekly and catered by Route 66 Taco and Wing Company.
The chamber is a voluntary organization of citizens who are investing time and money in a community development program, working together to improve the economic, civic, and cultural wellbeing of the area.
The chamber is committed to advancing the commercial, industrial, agricultural, educational, civic and community interests of the residents and businesses in the cities of Waynesville and St. Robert, and the surrounding area.
During the meeting chamber President Rosalind Pride, director at the Free Women’s Center, recognized this year’s board members: Brett Reith, pastor at Waypoint United Methodist Church, as board vice-president; Marianne Ward with the Waynesville R-VI School District as board treasurer; Jake Meizler with Maries County Bank; C.D. Storie of Storie Family Farms; Tracy O’Quinn of O’Quinn Marketing; Kelly Brownfield, USO of Missouri; Carrie Williamson of Smith & Turley; Michelle Beckley with Fort Wood Hotels, and Deborah Decker with the Pulaski County Health Center.
The Chamber Ambassadors were also recognized for all their hard work.
Pride then revealed this year’s theme, “Strengthening Community Relationships that Drive Local Businesses.”
The following awards were presented at the meeting: Rookie of the Year award went to HFL Networking and Consulting; Chamber Supporter of the Year award was presented to Delphi Brands/Hermit’s Delight. Chantel Higdon was recognized as Refer and Earn winner, referring two new members; Cecilia Murray, executive director of the chamber, was recognized with her 20 years of service pin, which she will celebrate Sept. 8.
