On Oct. 20-21, the LPC Alumni Foundation presented the CHOICES Program to Laquey Middle School eighth graders.
Over the course of two engaging sessions, students explored the importance of self-discipline, education, and future planning through hands-on, interactive activities.
The CHOICES Program emphasizes that self-discipline is the key to success. Students were encouraged to commit to staying in school and graduating, while also experiencing role-play scenarios that compared the opportunities available to high school dropouts, graduates, and those who pursued further education. These exercises highlighted how education directly impacts career options and long-term success, inspiring students to keep moving forward in their academic journeys.
A highly participatory classroom seminar, the CHOICES Program is delivered by local volunteers in partnership with the Waynesville–St. Robert Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Pulaski County. The Richland Middle School presentation was proudly sponsored by Fort Leonard Wood Thrift Shop, Fort Wood Hotels, Laclede Electric Trust, Rosalind Pride, The Giving Branch - Waynesville Flat Branch Home Loans and Walmart St. Robert.
Through interactive exercises in decision-making, time management, and money management, CHOICES helps students understand the lasting impact of their choices and empowers them to take control of their futures.
