The Waynesville JROTC Tiger Battalion cadets scored 99 percent during their inspection for accreditation on Feb. 10, 2026, at Waynesville High School on Feb. 10.
“The inspector was simply amazed at our cadets, especially during the briefings and the interview,” said Col. (Ret.) Charles Williams, senior Army instructor. “He couldn't find anything wrong. Our cadets crushed it.”
The battalion was inspected as part of the U.S. Army Cadet Command JROTC Program of Accreditation at Waynesville High School. Army JROTC units are inspected annually by the Army, and reaccredited every 3 years. Units that receive more than 90 percent during the 3-year accreditation visits are considered Honor Units with Distinction; Waynesville scored 99 percent.
The Inspection consists of the following areas, which add up to 100 percent:
1. In-Ranks Inspection of all cadets in JROTC in their dress uniforms (203 for us not including 8th graders).
2. A Drill Team Inspection.
3. A Color Guard Inspection.
4. A Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) briefing done by the cadet leadership to the Army Inspector from 3rd ROTC Brigade.
5. A Service Learning Briefing done by cadets from all four grade levels.
6. Individual Interviews by the inspector with Cadets from each LET Level (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) about the program and curriculum for their grade level.
7. Instructor Interviews
8. Out Briefing the Building Administrator.
The In-Ranks Inspection, and Drill Inspection and Color Guard Inspection portion were conducted by Missouri University of Science and Technology cadets and cadre.
