A Richland man faces multiple charges in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in April on Highway 133 in Pulaski County, according to documents filed in circuit court.
William N. Sivell II, born 2005, is charged in a July 15 complaint with one felony count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter as well as misdemeanor counts of failure to drive on right half of roadway when roadway was of sufficient width, resulting in an accident, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident and drove vehicle to left side of roadway when view obstructed by hill or curve.
Sivell was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Highway 133 on April 28 when he allegedly attempted to pass a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Van in a no-passing zone near Rawlings Road, according to the case’s probable cause statement. The statement says a three-vehicle crash then occurred when Sivell attempted to avoid an approaching southbound vehicle, causing a crash that claimed the life of the Chrysler driver. Â
The charges described above are merely an accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
