The American Red Cross will close its shelter in Waynesville later today at the ARK Community and Sports Center, 25625 MO-Hwy 17. The shelter was opened Tuesday following severe storms and power outages Monday night. Two people stayed overnight last night and the shelter has provided meals to those coming in during the day.

With the restoration of utilities in the area, the need for the shelter has decreased and the shelter will close later today.
