BOYS SOCCER: Tigers fall at Rolla, 4-0

Last week, Waynesville fell 2-0 to an 11-win Willard squad in a COC matchup Sept. 25.

Willard was able to earn an early goal against Waynesville’s back line. Waynesville limited Willard’s offense the remainder of the first half and trailed by a goal at the break.

Despite Waynesville’s closing efforts for an equalizer, a Tiger back pass to the keeper error resulted in another Willard goal in the final 10 minutes of play.

In the loss, Waynesville head coach Eric Thornburg praised Waynesville’s overall strides. “Despite the loss, Waynesville showed steady improvement in critical areas. The defense communicated more effectively and settled into their roles, the midfield connected passes to relieve pressure and the team showed resilience after falling behind.”

The JV Tigers were defeated 4-2.
