The Waynesville High School cross country team had strong individual showings in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions at the Lebanon Invitational, held Saturday Sept. 13.
For the Lady Tigers, junior Brooklynn Lercher finished third individually with a time of 20:38.37 over the 5,000-meter course. And for the WHS boys, senior David Boyd placed sixth overall at 17:54.72.
In the boys’ meet Rolla’s Braydon Shenefield was meet medalist at 17:07.62. Host Lebanon won the boys’ team title with 30 points while Rolla was second with 91, Blair Oaks third with 110 and Waynesville fourth with 129.
Fair Grove’s Katrina Cantwell was the girls’ medalist at 19:37.92. Lebanon also won the girls’ team crown with 41 points while Camdenton was runner-up with 81. Waynesville finished eighth with 195.
The Tiger runners are slated to compete again in the Hermitage Dam Invitational Sept. 27.
