Three members of the Waynesville High School football team have been selected to the Missouri Media Central Class 4-5 All-District Team, it was announced last week.
The Missouri Media Central District Teams consisted of Class 1-6 schools from mid-Missouri and were selected by sportswriters and sportscasters in that area. Due to a lack of Class 4 schools in the area, Class 4 and Class 5 were combined.
Waynesville players named to the Media All-District Team were senior defensive lineman Devonte Martin (6-5, 280) on the Class 4-5 First Team and junior receiver MJ Greene (5-7, 150) and junior offensive lineman Jackson Sheehan (6-2, 235) on the Class 4-5 Second Team.
Martin is a returning Media All-District selection. This season the anchor of the Tiger defensive line finished with 51 tackles, including five QB sacks and three forced fumbles.
Greene was the most consistent offensive threat for Waynesville this past fall, catching 47 passes for 621 yards (13.2 yards-per-catch) while rushing 19 times for 157 yards (8.2) and scoring a total of seven touchdowns.
Sheehan proved to be one of the hubs of the injury-riddled offense with his line play.
