VOLLEYBALL: Lady Tigers No. 3 seed for Class 5 District 5

In first-round matches Oct. 23, it’s Grain Valley vs. Rolla at 4:30 p.m. and Hickman vs. Battle at 6 p.m. at Grain Valley High School and Rock Bridge vs. Blue Springs South at 6 p.m. and Waynesville vs. Smith-Cotton at Blue Springs South High School.

In semifinal matches Oct. 25 at Grain Valley, the Rolla/Grain Valley winner plays the Hickman/Battle winner at 11 a.m. while the Rock Bridge/Blue Springs South winner meets the Waynesville/Smith-Cotton winner at 12:30 p.m.

The district title match is 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

Waynesville brings a 19-9-2 record into its regular-season finale at home against Ozark Thursday, Oct. 16.

Earlier this week the Lady Tigers posted a couple of road wins, winning at Osage 3-1 Monday, Oct. 13 and shutting out Central 3-0 at Springfield Tuesday, Oct. 14.
